Millions of Muslims arrive in Karbala to attend Ashura processions

Millions of Muslims from across the globe have arrived in the Iraqi holy city of Karbala to mark the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS), the third Shia Imam and grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

Mourners gathered at the shrine of Imam Hossein to pay tribute to him on the 10th day of the lunar month of Muharram, known as Ashura.
