‘Mashhad Razavi’ Quranic copy donated to chairman of Expediency Discernment Council

Imam Reza shrine has donated a copy of the recently-published 1400-year-old ‘Mashhad Razavi’ Quran to the chairman of Iran’s Expediency Discernment Council, Ayat Amoli Larijani.

“This exquisite Hijazi copy of the Holy Quran is the most complete Quranic manuscript in 252 pages dating back to the first century AH. It has been published in facsimile following a seven-year research and preparation process by Al ul-Bait Institute in collaboration with Imam Reza shrine library”, said Seyyed Ali Sarsarabi, Quranic Deputy of Scientific and Cultural Organization of the shrine in a ceremony to donate the copy to Ayat Amoli Larijani in Mashhad, northeast of Iran.

Stressing on the historical significance of the ancient Quranic manuscripts, Sarsarabi recounted the important features of ‘Mashhad Razavi’ copy as a valid document corroborating the authenticity of the Holy Quran.

He added that the copy would be a great reference on dates of writing and recitation of the Holy Quran for Muslim researchers in both university and seminaries, and a solid evidence against Quran deniers.
