In the exhibition, some 115 selected photos from 95 Iranian and foreign photographers have been put on display.
According to Amin Ebrahimi, the executive secretary of this round of the festival: “The works include 61 photos by Iranian photographers from different cities, and 54 works by non-Iranians from Uzbekistan, the UAE, Italy, the US, etc.”.
The displayed works include 58 photos in Mazarat (Islamic holy sites) section, and 57 works in Prayers (Divine Faiths) section, which have been selected out of 7,643 submitted photos from Iran and abroad.
“This year, the secretariat got in touch with foreign photographers via emails, and introduced the festival in various photography groups across the world. As a result of this wider publicity work on an international scale, more and more foreign participants attended the event compared to the first round”, added Ebrahimi.
He continued that in the call for submission, the Prayer in Islamic faiths section had changed into Prayer in Divine faiths; “therefore, non-Muslim photographers could also participate in the festival”.
The closing ceremony of the festival got underway in Nour Cultural Hall, Mashhad, at 17:30 on 6 January.
The exhibition will be ongoing until 9 January, from 9 to 13, and 16 to 19, in Razvan Gallery of Mashhad.
