Iʿtikāf rituals for youngsters to get underway in 11 provinces

Institute for Youth of Imam Reza shrine is set to hold Iʿtikāf rituals for the young adults (born between 2000 to 2010) in 11 Iranian provinces.

According to the CEO of the institute, “In these programs, there will be some 21 Iʿtikāf rituals with 3,500 young boys and girls in attendance”.

Talking about the audience of Iʿtikāf rituals, Mojtaba Mokhtari said: “The programs that are specifically designed for young adults include religious knowledge discussions, prayers, book reading, etc.”.

He further pointed to some details of the rituals, adding that, “One of the most important approaches of the institute is enabling young adults in the second step of the Revolution. Therefore, these youngsters take the initiative to run the programs on their own”.

He concluded his remarks by quoting the Leader of the Revolution as emphasizing the significance and position of the younger generation, which was the main impetus for the institute to turn into an inspirational center for the youth in the country.

Iʿtikāf is an Islamic practice consisting of a period of staying in a mosque for a certain number of days, devoting oneself to worshipping during these days and staying away from worldly affairs.
