Pilgrims celebrate Hazrat Abbas’s birth anniv. in Imam Reza shrine

Pilgrims have celebrated the birth anniversary of Hazrat Abbas on the eve of 4th Sha’ban (the eighth month of the Islamic calendar) under the aegis of Deputy Office for Islamic Ideology Dissemination.

On the eve of Hazrat Abbas’s birth anniversary, which falls on Sha’ban 4th, Imam Reza shrine in the northeastern Iranian city of Mashhad is braced for festivities with inscriptions and colorful lights all over the place.

Speaking in the event, Ayat Seyyed Hassan Ameli, the Leader’s representative in Ardabil, said: “There was a deep bond between Hazrat Abbas and his brother Imam Hussain, which led to immense similarity between their personalities and conducts”.

“Hazrat Abbas’s knowledge about God, and his worship of God were very much like those of Imam Hussain. He also had a profound perception of his contemporary Imam”, explained he.

Further in his sermon, the religious scholar stated that Hazrat Abbas was totally obedient to Imam Hussain and would squarely obey his orders.

“One of the greatest characteristics of Hazrat Abbas was his support of women”, added the Friday Prayer Imam of Ardabil.
