The short stories in this children’s collection include ‘Three Mama’s Points’, ‘Auntie Centipede’s Dinner’, ‘Sixth Law’ and ‘Spotted Cookies’. The stories are narrated by a centipede called ‘Pa Pa Pa’ (Pa is the Persian word for leg).
The collection tries to convey simple ethical points to children via beautiful and attractive stories. Friendship, kindness, truthfulness, good-temperedness, appreciation, responsibility, cooperation and asking for permission are some of the topics in the stories.
‘Auntie Centipede’s Dinner’ is a story about discipline and doing duties on time.
‘Sixth Law’ is about falling out with friends and deciding to make peace again.
‘Three Mama’s Points’ is a story about kindness and respecting parents.
‘Spotted Cookies’ is an account about honesty and truthfulness.
Claire Joubert also illustrated the stories using simple, pleasing and colorful illustrations, which has made the stories more influential. The visual attraction of the book helps 7 to 9-year-olds to boost their eyesight.
Behnashr is the publishing institute of Imam Reza shrine, which translates Persian works into other languages unlike other publications. The institute has so far published 71 children’s books in Chinese, Turkish, Malay, German, Arabic and English.
