Azeri pilgrims join Karamat ten-day celebrations

The Karamat ten-day celebrations, which mark the period between Hazrat Masumeh and Imam Reza’s birth anniversaries, have been held in Imam Reza shrine for Azeri pilgrims.

A group of Azeri pilgrims from Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan has visited Imam Reza shrine to attend the ceremonies held by the Deputy for International Pilgrims Affairs in Dar al-Rahmah portico.

Speaking in the ceremony, Hoj Aref Hamdollahi, a religious expert, invoked a hadith from Imam Mousa, Imam Reza’s father, saying: “Pilgrims of the Ahl al-Bait have special position close to God, but the pilgrims of my child are ever closer to Him”.

“Imam Reza has a lofty standing in the heavens, which is beyond our grasp; however, we must raise our awareness and understanding of him”, added the religious expert.

Citing ‘Siraj Munir’ and ‘Shams al-Shomous’ as two nicknames of Imam Reza, Hoj Hamdollahi noted: “Siraj means lantern, Shams means the Sun, which both point to the fact that Imam Reza is an illuminating lantern for guidance”.
