Culture of resistance, significant in Islamic, Imam Reza’s teachings

The Director of Holy Shrines Studies at the Islamic Research Foundation of Imam Reza shrine says the discourse of resistance holds a prominent position in Islamic teachings.

In an interview, Dr. Morteza Enferadi discussed the concept of resistance in Islamic teachings with an emphasis on Imam Reza’s principles and the foundations laid by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, commemorating Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the martyr of resistance.
"Resistance, in its literal sense, means steadfastness, continuity, and perseverance," Dr. Enfari explained.
He further elaborated that in political science, the term signifies opposition to specific currents, and in Islamic jurisprudence, it is akin to defensive Jihad.
Dr. Enferadi invoked a narrative from Imam Reza, saying, "Allah the Almighty is wrathful upon the person who remains at home while an attack is carried out on him."
“This narration reflects the culture of resistance epitomized by Imam Reza, who was a tireless and relentless combatant”, stressed the director.
Based on the clarification of the term by the Leader, resistance means choosing a path that one believes to be right and just, and continuing to move forward on this path despite obstacles.
The Director of Holy Shrines Studies concluded his remarks by stating that “The culture of resistance throughout Islamic history has had great leaders and flag-bearers, and in this era, according to the Leader’s emphasis, the late Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah is regarded as a grand mujahid and a distinguished flag-bearer of resistance”.
