The session began with a presentation on "The Resistance Front: From Stones to Missiles," elaborating on various uprisings against the Israeli regime, including the Stone Intifada and Al-Aqsa Flood.
Speaking in the seminar, the scientific secretary, Dr. Ali Jan Sekandari, highlighted, “The first Palestinian uprising, known as the "Stone Intifada," began on December 8, 1987, when an Israeli truck driver ran over Palestinian workers, sparking six years of resistance. This uprising represented the Palestinian people's protest against poor living conditions and oppression by Israeli forces”.
“Since then, numerous uprisings have occurred. On April 14, 2024, Iran targeted military installations in the occupied Palestine with drones and missiles. Iranian missiles bypassed Israeli defense systems, striking targets and damaging two Israeli air bases. This operation is considered the world's largest drone attack and Iran's most significant missile strike”, he added.
Sekandari explained that the attack was in retaliation for the Israeli military’s assault on the Iranian consulate in Damascus on April 1, 2024, which resulted in the martyrdom of seven IRGC members.
“Furthermore, on October 1, 2024, Iran launched missile attacks on military targets in response to the assassinations of Ismail Haniyeh, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, and Seyyed Abbas Nilforoushan”, asserted the secretary of the event.
Najjarzadeh, another speaker, emphasized the importance of psychological operations in contemporary conflicts noting, “Those who dominate psychological warfare can achieve victory in physical battles, categorizing psychological operations into black, white, and gray”.
Najjarzadeh highlighted three key operations against the Zionist regime: “Al-Aqsa Storm, which shattered the intelligence and psychological operations of the hegemonic system; True Promise I, which broke the psychological operations of the Zionist regime; and True Promise II, which destroyed the military hegemony of the West, inflicting heavy damage on the Zionist regime”.
These operations had significant national, Islamic, and international impacts, leading to national cohesion and highlighting Shia school of thought in the Islamic world.
A seminar dubbed "Iran and the Resistance Front," part of a series of analytical sessions on passive defense, was held by the Revolution Studies and New Islamic Civilization group at the Islamic Research Foundation of Imam Reza shrine, in the northeastern Iranian city of Mashhad.
