Speaking in the event, the renowned Lebanese visual artist, Rida Kassir, emphasized: “The event is a platform for artists to convey the message of Gaza’s resilience through art”.
“The themes of Imam Hussein and resistance ultimately lead to Imam Mahdi, and it is the artists’ responsibility to reflect these values in their works”, Kassir stated.
Kassir further stressed the importance of defending justice, stating, “We are not here to declare victimhood but to assert our defense of truth. Whether victorious or martyred, we triumph in this path.”
He highlighted the significance of the event in fostering works that deeply connect the concept of resistance with the cultural heritage of Ashura and Muharram.
Adding to this, Bahraini calligrapher, Seyed Abbas Almosawi, hailed the event as an opportunity to explore the art of religious associations.
“I take pride in having previously created works during various occasions at Imam Reza shrine”, Almosawi noted.
During the exhibition, he inscribed sayings from Nahj al-Balagha and hadiths from the Ahlul Bayt, presenting them as gifts to visitors.
The term "Safinat al-Najah" translates to "Ship of Salvation" in English. It's a metaphor deeply rooted in Islamic teachings and is often associated with Imam Hussein (the 3rd Shia Imam), symbolizing his role in guiding believers toward righteousness and salvation through his sacrifices and stand for justice.
The "Safinat al-Najah" event, held from April 8 to 14, brought together over 1,000 artists specializing in flag and banner design, urban advertisements, posters, audio and video production, photography, painting, and more. It aims to highlight the pivotal role of art in resistance and cultural solidarity.

The third "Safinat al-Najah" cultural and artistic event under the aegis of Astan Quds Razavi (AQR) showcases the intersection of resistance and the spiritual culture of Ashura, featuring over 1,000 artists.
