Being hosted by Aminzadeh, CEO of Astan Quds Razavi’s Physical Education Institute at the location of Imam Reza Stadium, Mubarqa got familiar with all sports activities of Astan Quds Razavi in Mashhad and Iran.
In this meeting, Aminzadeh presented a valuable tableau of Iranian handicrafts and special emblem of his institute to the Iraqi minister of sports; Mubarqa, reciprocally, presented commemorative plaque of the Iraqi Ministry of Sports to Aminzadeh.
Iraqi minister of sports and his delegation visited facilities of Imam Reza Stadium, including football stadium and tartan track, specialized gyms for bodybuilding, martial arts, table tennis, the Zurkhaneh pit, the conference hall, and dormitories. The group praised efforts of Astan Quds Razavi in sports and physical education.
In an interview with the press, Mubarqa noted: “My trip to the Islamic Republic of Iran is for the purpose of following up bilateral cooperation in the field of sports. In my negotiations, I followed up on the implementation of the cooperation agreements that were signed during the trip of Iranian president to Iraq”.
The Iraqi minister of sports continued: “After my negotiations in Tehran, we traveled to Mashhad to visit Imam Reza shrine. I also had a chance to visit Central Museums of the holy shrine and to know about sports facilities of Astan Quds Razavi”.
Referring to the common capacities between two neighboring countries, Mubarqa expressed hope that cooperation in various fields, including physical education, can be expanded between Iran and Iraq.
The Iraqi minister of sports was also a special guest of the opening ceremony of Imam Reza International Track and Field Tournament slated for April 25-26.
The tournament is held with participation of 145 Iranian and foreign track and field athletes at Imam Reza (AS) Stadium in Mashhad.
