Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of Iran’s largest green flag dedicated to Imam Reza in Abbasabad, Tehran, Ayat. Ahmad Marvi commemorated the victims of the tragic incident at Shahid Rajaee Port (southern Iran), praying for their families and recovery for the injured.
Addressing the attendees, Ayat. Marvi congratulated them on the commencement of the Ten Days of Karamat celebrations, saying: “The flag-raising ceremony is a symbolic movement that reflects dignity”.
“The flag of Imam Reza embodies human dignity, continuing the legacy of Prophet Muhammad’s flag of monotheism and moral guidance during the Age of Ignorance”, he highlighted.
AQR’s Custodian explained how Imam Reza upheld dignity during the oppressive Abbasid era (750-1258 CE).
“The Imam’s demeanor was inclusive and respectful, as he would invite servants to dine at his table. The Imam’s humility and rejection of power and greed served as an enduring lesson for followers of the Ahlul-Bayt”, he recalled.
Reflecting on Iran’s pre-Revolutionary period, Ayat. Marvi remarked: “The nation was humiliated by foreign embassies dictating its future. Inspired by Prophet Muhammad’s and the Ahlul-Bayt’s principles, Imam Khomeini restored dignity to Iran’s people, ensuring their rightful place in Islamic society”.
The Ten Days of Karamat refers to the period starting with the birth anniversary of Hazrat Masumah and concluding with the birth anniversary of her brother, Imam Reza.
This spiritually significant period celebrates the values of dignity, service, and enlightenment embodied by these revered figures of the Ahlul-Bayt, urging the community to emulate their teachings through cultural, charitable, and social initiatives.

Highlighting Karamat (dignity) as central to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and Imam Reza (AS), the Custodian of Astan Quds Razavi (AQR) says it is the basis for guiding humanity and building an Islamic society.
