Pilgrimage webinar explores healing, sanctity with Arizona scholar

The 12th session in global series to examine spiritual dimensions of pilgrimage through interdisciplinary lens was held on Thursday, July 24.

Under the auspices of the Islamic Research Foundation and in cooperation with the Deputy Office for International Pilgrims’ Affairs of Astan Quds Razavi, the 12th session of the “Pilgrimage in the World” webinar series was held under the title of “Dimensions of Healing and Sanctity: A Global Experience from Ritual to Faith.”

The event took place virtually on July 24, at 12:30 p.m. Tehran time.

Michael Winkelman, retired professor at Arizona State University, presented his insights based on the book Healing and Pilgrimage, which explores the therapeutic and spiritual aspects of sacred journeys across cultures.
