A delegation of students from the School of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs visited Imam Reza Shrine to gain firsthand insight into the extensive cultural and international capacities of Astan Qods Razavi (AQR), the organization in charge of the holy shrine.

The initiative was organized to equip aspiring diplomats with deeper understanding of the cultural assets they can leverage in their future diplomatic careers.

According to Dr. Amirhossein Nikbin, deputy dean of the School of International Relations: "The visit was designed to familiarize students who will shape the future diplomacy of the Islamic Republic of Iran with the cultural capabilities, facilities of AQR."

He noted that understanding these institutional assets enables future envoys to utilize cultural tools more effectively in representing the country on the global stage.

Nikbin also highlighted the deep-seated reverence for Imam Reza among Muslims worldwide, noting: “International devotion to the holy figure serves as a potent bridge for cultural exchange”.

He observed that many foreign dignitaries and citizens demonstrate profound respect for the shrine, creating opportunities to attract international pilgrims and researchers to Iran.

“The museum housing gifts presented to the Martyred Leader is particularly instructive; items from Africa and the Middle East bear witness to Iran's broad diplomatic reach”, he pointed out.

During the excursion, the students toured the Quran Museum and viewed displays in the AQR permanent exhibition center. They also attended a 360-degree cinematic presentation detailing the life of Imam Reza, the historical development of the holy shrine, and architectural milestones achieved over the centuries. The visit concluded with congregational prayers in Melal Portico, an architectural briefing on Iranian-Islamic design, and a reception at the holy shrine's banquet hall.
