On the anniversary of the martyrdom of Hazrat Qasim ibn Musa al-Kazim (AS), the noble brother of Imam Reza (AS) and Hazrat Fatima Masumeh (SA), his holy shrine in the city of Al-Qasim, in Iraq’s Babil Governorate, is welcoming pilgrims and devotees of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS). According to a widely cited account, this revered descendant of the Prophet was compelled to leave Medina during the Abbasid rule and seek refuge in Iraq. He passed away in exile, far from his birthplace. On the anniversary of his martyrdom, pilgrims gather at his sacred shrine to mourn and pay their respects.
