A special Ashura mourning ceremony called ‘Maqtal Khani’ got underway in Imam Khomeini Portico of Imam Reza shrine, in the northeastern Iranian city of Mashhad, on July 16, with Ayat Alamolhoda, the Leader’s provincial representative, giving a speech. Maqtal Khani is a mournful narrative of Imam Hossein's martyrdom in Karbala.
