According to Atabe News, on Wednesday afternoon, October 28, 2026, the Deputy Custodian of Astan Quds Razavi, accompanied by the provincial governor, several provincial officials, and a group of shrine servants, attended Shahid Hasheminejad Airport to welcome the special guests of Imam Reza (AS) and extend a warm greeting to them upon their arrival in Mashhad.
The delegation comprised a number of Iraqi tribal chiefs and sheikhs who had traveled to Mashhad at the invitation of the Supreme Leader, with the aim of honoring and paying tribute to the Iraqi people for their participation in the magnificent funeral procession of the martyred leader of the Ummah.
During the ceremony, servants of the holy Razavi Shrine welcomed the Iraqi guests in accordance with traditional hospitality customs and established ceremonial protocols. The servants’ presence in their official service uniforms, their warm and cordial reception, their words of welcome, and their accompaniment of the guests upon arrival reflected respect for the visitors and a commitment to the longstanding Iranian-Islamic tradition of hospitality.
Beyond its ceremonial significance, the participation of the shrine servants in the welcoming ceremony underscored the special place these guests hold in Razavi culture and the importance of the deep religious, cultural, and historical bonds between the peoples of Iran and Iraq. These bonds are rooted in their shared love for the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) and their devotion to Imam Reza (AS).
The reception was a symbol of honoring guests at the holy Razavi Shrine and a reflection of Iranian hospitality—a culture in which respect for elders, a gracious welcome, and ensuring that guests feel comfortable and dignified are held in high regard.
