Imam Reza shrine hosts traditional mourning ritual for Arab pilgrims

Imam Reza holy shrine’s Ghadir courtyard has hosted traditional ritual of stool eulogy recitation in presence of thousands of foreign pilgrims from different Arabic countries.

The mourning ceremony was held live by some panegyrists of the Islamic world. The Arabic language ceremony had around four thousand pilgrim participants from Kuwait, Lebanon, Iraq, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and Syria in attendance. This ritual was greatly applauded by the men and women pilgrims participating in it.

Stool eulogy recitation ritual is a traditional mourning ceremony among Shia Muslims held for tens of years. This ritual has preserved its popularity up to now and it is practiced during mourning occasions of the year.

It is worth mentioning that Ghadir courtyard of the holy shrine is now performing many different mourning ceremonies for Arabic language pilgrims of the complex in last ten days of Safar.
