Specialized portico for children under five

Following parents’ great satisfaction of the services given to children between five and nine years old at the Children Portico, Imam Reza shrine has opened a specialized portico for children under five years old.

The new portico came into operation in a special ceremony attended by Hoj. Ahmad Marvi, custodian of the holy shrine.

Talking about this project, Hoj. Hossein Shariatinejad, Imam Reza holy shrine’s deputy for Islamic propagation said: “Creation of such a portico has always been a main concern on the part of Hoj. Marvi as he has always been empathizing on giving special religious and cultural services to children as those given to the adults”.

Hoj. Shariatinejad stated: “To meet this concern of the custodian, the first phase of the specialized Children Portico was run with capacity of housing 100 children per hour. In the second phase, a specialized hall was allocated to the children under five years old in 150-meter place”.

He added: “Focus-based games, movement-based games, and telling stories are three different entertaining programs provisioned for children in this newly launched portico”.

Holy shrine’s deputy for Islamic Propagation went on to say: “Time duration of services of the portico lasts for about 15 to 20 minutes; the center has capacity of giving services to 700 children everyday”.

Shariatinejad concluded: “This newly opened portico is in fact a marginal part of the Children Portico which renders its services through endeavors of 150 mentors and caregivers per week. This portico is located in northeastern side of the Holy Prophet Courtyard”.
