Imam Reza shrine, MFA form Imam Reza working group

Authorities of Imam Reza holy shrine and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran have formed Imam Reza working group in line with previous bilateral agreements over consolidation of diplomacy of pilgrimage.

Imam Reza holy shrine’s deputy for international affairs, Hoj. Faqih Esfandeyari, said: “We expect the working group to do a great job in serving foreign pilgrims of the holy shrine through multilateral interactions among representatives of the MFA, Imam Reza shrine, general governorate of Razavi Khorasan, and representatives of other bodies”.

Continuing its remarks, Esfandeyari also stated: “Promoting activities of the IRI’s missions in wide spreading of Imam Reza’s (AS) teachings worldwide, easing foreign pilgrims’ trips to Mashhad, and having close contact with Imam Reza shrine as well as general governorate of Razavi Khorasan are among top duties of the working group”.

Concluding his remarks, he added: “Pursuing tasks related to MFA’s responsibilities in the Foreign Pilgrims’ Commission of the Supreme Council of Pilgrimage, strengthening diplomacy of pilgrimage by relying on pilgrimage capacities in Mashhad, Qom and other pilgrimage sites of the country and taking advantage of the views of salient diplomats in promoting diplomacy of pilgrimage are other goals behind formation of this working group”.
