Return to Prophet Muhammad’s teachings best fortification against social maladies:
Custodian

The custodian of Imam Reza shrine in Mashhad, northeast Iran, has referred to Prophet Muhammad’s teachings as the best way to stand against social maladies.

In an event held in Imam Khomeini Portico to mark Prophet Muhammad’s first Revelation, Hoj. Ahmad Marvi, Custodian of Imam Reza shrine, called an aimless and wandering society a decadent one, saying: “Those who are detached from truth, Quranic and religious teachings, and do not strive for their moral growth, are wandering and purposeless souls incapable of distinguishing between good and evil”.

Stressing that the Holy Quran was revealed to the Prophet by the angel Gabriel to save humankind from aimless wandering, Hoj. Marvi noted: “The Prophet’s Infallible Household, as a continuation of the revelation, is responsible for saving mankind from pointless straying, and key to guide humans from ignorance to prosperity”.

He resembled 1979 Islamic Revolution to a breeze of Quranic teachings in Iran, stating: “Islamic Revolution has been the continuation of the revelation, at a time when human communities are suffering from oppression, depravity, moral decadence, and brutality”.

The custodian further pointed to the Leader’s remarks that called the most important impact of the Revolution as ‘saving Iranian nation from obliteration by the West’, adding: “Islamic Revolution saved Iranian nation from the onslaughts of Western culture, which is corrupted with immoral, lustful and cruel behavior; the danger is not over though”.

Elsewhere in his remarks, head of Imam Reza shrine called the dissemination of moral values in society as the Greater Jihad, lamenting lack of Quranic teachings in today’s society. “There are a lot of shortcomings when it comes to spreading these teachings across society. Islam is not only about the Holy Quran and prayers; rather implementing those teachings is of greater value”, said he.
