On the final day of the Persian language refresher course for university professors from Uzbekistan, official certificates from Imam Reza International University (IRIU) were awarded to the participants.
The theoretical-practical program was organized by the university’s Persian Language Education Center, with contributions from prominent academic instructors and the Saadi Foundation. This marked the first specialized refresher course designed for selected faculty members from Uzbek universities, held from July 26 to August 5, with the aim of enhancing their proficiency in Persian language and promoting deeper academic and cultural exchanges between the two kindred nations.
Throughout the intensive two-week course, the Uzbek professors engaged with all four core language skills—reading, writing, listening, and speaking. The curriculum focused on updating their knowledge, addressing common pronunciation issues, and introducing contemporary vocabulary. Participants also explored techniques for analyzing classical Persian texts and manuscripts, and learned innovative approaches for teaching Persian to non-native speakers.
In addition to classroom sessions, the professors visited historical, cultural, and religious sites across Khorasan Razavi Province, northeast Iran. These included the sacred precincts of Imam Reza Shrine, the central library and museums of Astan Quds Razavi, Ferdowsi’s mausoleum, and heritage landmarks in Mashhad, Neyshabur, and the ancient city of Kalat-e Naderi.

Imam Reza Shrine hosted the closing ceremony of a two-week Persian language refresher course for Uzbek academics, aimed at strengthening cultural and academic ties.
