Cultural ambassadors should facilitate pilgrimage

The Custodian of Imam Reza shrine has stressed that Iran’s cultural ambassadors should pave the way for pilgrims to visit the shrine in northeastern Iranian city of Mashhad.

Speaking in a meeting with the supreme council of the Ahl al-Bayt International Organization, Hoj Ahmad Marvi quoted a hadith from Imam Reza and said: “If people grasped the beauty of our words, they would follow us without a doubt”.

He added that this hadith from the Imam could be the philosophy behind the formation of the Ahl al-Bayt International Organization.

According to Hoj Marvi: “The Leader of the Islamic Revolution established some cultural and international organizations, The World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought and the Ahl al-Bayt International Organization being two of them”.

The former conveyed the message that there was no ethnic, sectarian and religious lines dividing the Muslim community, and what separated Islam and the arrogance was global blasphemy, and other separating lines were only wrought by the enemies.

“The Ahl al-Bayt International Organization is, in fact, an intellectual and cultural backbone for Islamic proximity; that is, we can unite the Islamic world via the Quranic teachings and those of the Holy Prophet and his Infallible Household”, said head of Imam Reza shrine.

Stressing that the teachings of the Prophet’s Infallible Household was the foundation of Islamic proximity, he explained: “these two organizations complete each other, and the shrine will do its utmost to pave the way for their closer cooperation”.

“In a meeting with Iran’s foreign minister, it was suggested that an office be established in Iranian consulates to facilitate pilgrimage to Mashhad for international pilgrims”, Hoj Marvi noted.

He further pointed to some obstacles in the way of easy pilgrimage for international pilgrims, saying that “There is no direct flight from India to Mashhad, and only one direct flight from a Pakistani city; sometimes, pilgrims have to go through many countries to reach Mashhad”.

“Thank God the current administration has put pilgrimage high on agenda”, said he.

Hoj Marvi concluded his remarks by drawing attention to facilitation of pilgrimage and stated that it would be one of the main tasks of the Ahl al-Bayt International Organization.
