Logistic infrastructure expands in SSEZ; 2nd loading, unloading terminal to open in Feb.

Sarakhs Special Economic Zone (SSEZ) in Razavi Khorasan province, northeast Iran, is experiencing expansion of logistic infrastructure, and the 2nd loading and unloading terminal is set to open in it in less than a month, which coincides with the upcoming 10 Days of Fajr (1-11 Feb.).

According to Ehsan Jalayer, the investment deputy of SSEZ, “The terminal project started in April 2023, and currently, 85% of it has been completed. This is the first loading and unloading terminal undertaken by the private sector”.  

“At the moment, two wide 1300-meter railways have been created inside of the zone, which upon inauguration, will be completed with two more 1500-meter railways”, added he.

“In addition, two big docks for transshipment of wagons are currently underway”, continued Jalayer.

The investment deputy also talked about a grains dump pit that has been planned to be built adjacent to the railways in the 2nd phase of the project to supply the demand of the province.

“The 2nd phase also include the construction of specialized vaulted warehouses as well as amenities for drivers”, he noted.

Jalayer concluded his remarks by pointing to the facilities for the private sector investor such as some infrastructure facilities, and the 13-hectare land for terminal which have been provided on long-term installment loans.
