20 depository offices, active in shrine 24/7

The Deputy Office of Pilgrim Services runs some 20 depository offices in Imam Reza shrine, which can store pilgrims’ valuable objects and money round the clock.

According to Mahdi Jeddi Kalati, head of depository office, “Currently, the section runs 12 offices with a capacity to keep 14,000 deposits at a time, which will be increased on special occasions”.

He added that pilgrims could entrust their personal items such as bags and suitcases to the offices with peace of mind.

The depository offices are located at main and subsidiary entrances on the ground and underground such as in parking 1 and 3.

The head of lost and found offices of the shrine further noted that, “Collecting money, jewelry, documents and other valuable objects and returning to their owners is another duty of the office”.

The office is also responsible for keeping found objects in the shrine and other affiliated places such as guesthouses, and following up to find the owners. Therefore, the central branch of this office is located in Ghadir Courtyard to answer to owners of lost objects 24/7.

Kalati talked about special occasions when there is a large number of pilgrims, saying: “In addition to increasing the capacity in the offices during special days of year, a mobile office will be set up at those times”.

However, pilgrims are advised not to carry personal stuff and valuable objects while enter the shrine for convenience purposes.
