According to the caretaker of the specialized library, Mrs Mojgan Jalilian, “Currently, there are some 6,300 printed references, 4,750 maps, 1,200 dissertations, 350 Atlases and 300 disks in the facility”.
She noted that some 4,000 people used the library in the first 9 months of the current Iranian year.
“This year, to increase the studying space, and given the joint meetings scheduled with the geography teachers assembly of Khorasan Razavi Province, the library has been transferred inside the repository of printed books”, added she.
Jalilian stressed that clients can browse through the bookshelves in the library to find the books they are looking for.
Saying that information about the geography books and references is being uploaded on its website, Jalilian stated: “Clients can also benefit from a number of other services such scanning, printing, using maps on disks, touristic information about different destinations in the world, etc.”
The caretaker of the specialized library further pointed to the background of the center, saying: “The center was launched in 2001 as one of the specialized sections of Imam Reza shrine library”.
The specialized geography library of the shrine is open from 07:15 to 13:30, Saturday to Wednesday, and from 07:15 to 12:30, on Thursdays.
