Pilgrims’ presence in Mashhad; biggest cultural, spiritual incident of the country

Large number of pilgrims in holy city of Mashhad during Nowrouz is the biggest cultural and spiritual event in the country which must receive special attention, says Malek Rahmati, deputy custodian of Imam Reza shrine.

Speaking in a provincial meeting to coordinate different organizations’ Nowrouz services, Rahmati said: “Running comprehensive system of pilgrimage with the purpose of facilitating appropriate pilgrimage and to fulfill wisdom-based pilgrimage is a necessity”.

He said: “It is good to run this system of pilgrimage by enjoying latest scientific and technological achievements through an additional cooperation of all national and provincial bodies”.

Referring to the coincidence of this year’s Nowrouz with the holy month of Ramadan, deputy custodian of the holy shrine stated: “This year’s hosting is different from those of previous years as it is difficult to anticipate pilgrims’ behaviors during upcoming holidays”.

“Predictions indicate presence of millions of pilgrims during this year’s Nowrouz holidays; everything indicates occurrence of a large and different religious-cultural event”, he added.

Rahmati further said: “The services given to the pilgrims must be of high quality so that peaceful pilgrimage could be fulfilled. We also need capabilities of popular constitutions and social activists to manifest decent hosting”.

Referring to the necessity of media and news coverage of the incident, Malek Rahmati concluded: “Field presence of all managers is executive guarantee of all planning and approvals of such meetings”.
