Razavi Intl. Turkmen music album ‘Travel Season’ out

The CEO of the Institute of Artistic Creations of Imam Reza shrine announced the production of the first Razavi music album using Turkmen lyrics and melodies dubbed ‘Travel Season’ in collaboration with the Deputy Office for International Affairs.

According to Amir Mahdi Hakimi, “Razavi artistic movement is one of the policies included in the cultural and artistic macro-policies of the shrine”.

“Upon propagating this movement – both in theory and artistic production – we’ve strived to use arts as a medium to promote pilgrimage and connect fervent lovers to Imam Reza, and extend this path beyond Khorasan and Iran to the whole world”, added Hakimi.

He stressed that one of the important areas to focus in this regard was the international scope of the shrine so that Imam Reza’s teachings could be spread worldwide in collaboration with the Deputy Office for International Affairs.

Talking about the background of the multimedia productions in the shrine, he pointed to Afghan, Indian and Pakistani artists’ performances in religious singing.

“Given Imam Reza’s historic trip from Medina to Merv and Turkmenistan’s direct connection with that trip, we’ve embarked on the production of an album featuring Turkmen musical works”, continued the CEO of the Institute of Artistic Creations.

The idea gave rise to the album, which is called ‘Seyran Icinde’ in Turkmen. The tracks in it allude to Imam Reza’s historic trip to Merv.
