AQR prioritizes facilitation, perfection of pilgrimage

Facilitation of pilgrimage to Imam Reza shrine is a priority at Astan Quds Razavi, says Mostafa Feizi, deputy custodian of the shrine.

Speaking in the opening ceremony of Qibla Court of the holy shrine attended by custodian of the complex Hoj. Ahmad Marvi and Mashhad’s mayor, Mohammad Reza Ghalandar Sharif, Feizi said: “In addition to facilitating pilgrimage, the development of holy shrine’s spaces, and boosting religious and spiritual activities have always been among major priorities emphasized by the custodian”.
He added: “No action is more important than offering services to pilgrims here in Astan Quds Razavi; many development and cultural projects are now underway by the financial support of the benefactors”.
Referring to increased illumination of the courtyards as a good project conducted inside the shrine, deputy custodian said: “Restoration of tiling of the dome of Goharshad Mosque which was completed and put into operation on the eve of past New Year was another notable work accomplished recently”.
Appreciating good cooperation of the municipality and the city council in implementation of the project for development of pilgrim service spaces and refurbishment of the facade of the Qibla Square, Feizi said: “The whole project includes an area of 7 hectares from Bab al-Javad to Beit al-Moqaddas Square, which contains project on and under the ground”.
He went on to say: “This project is the beginning of a new movement in developing Imam Reza shrine and increasing pilgrimage spaces for more convenience of the pilgrims”.
Deputy custodian of Imam Reza shrine concluded: “In order to increase pilgrimage spaces of the complex, projects will also be extended to the underpass of the shrine. Therefore, development project of the underpass of Holy Prophet and Imam Hassan Mojtaba courtyards are on the agenda”.
