In his trip to Mashhad, Fariduddin Nasriov also visited Quran and Leader’s Gifts Museums, expressing delight at the cultural and scientific treasures kept there.
Speaking in the meeting, Hoj. Seyed Jalal Hosseini, head of the AQR’s Libraries, Museums, and Documents Organization, emphasized deep historical ties between Iran and Uzbekistan, likening them to two brothers.
He highlighted the library's extensive collection of precious Islamic and human heritage, part of which reflects the shared cultural history of Iran and Uzbekistan, including works by Amir Ali Shir Nawa'i and renowned scholars like Abu Rayhan Biruni, Ibn Sina (known in the West as Avicenna), and Abu Nasr Farabi (known in the West as Alpharabius).
“These shared cultural and scientific resources could bolster economic relations between the two countries and provide a cultural shield for their societies”, Hoj. Hosseini highlighted.
He also proposed drafting a cooperation agreement with several Uzbek institutions, noting the longstanding tradition of preservation and restoration at the AQR’s Library.
For his part, Nasriov welcomed joint research initiatives between the two countries' scholars and announced plans to enrich the library's collection with new Uzbek books.
He expressed eagerness to facilitate greater interaction between Uzbek researchers and the AQR’s Library, aiming to deepen their understanding of the shared historical ties.
As part of the visit, Nasriov received a facsimile of the exquisite Baysonghor Quran and a collection of historical photos of the shrine and Mashhad.
During a visit to Imam Reza shrine in Mashhad, northeast Iran, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Iran met with the head of Astan Quds Razavi’s (AQR) Libraries, Museums, and Documents Organization.
