According to Ayat. Ahmad Marvi, “Islamic research should expand beyond research institutes to influence society”.
Speaking at a ceremony on the occasion of the 40th establishment anniversary the AQR’s Islamic Research Foundation, the custodian stated that Islamic research must be practical and impactful on social changes and daily life.
“The ultimate goal of these efforts should be their social extension, as academic achievements must influence societal and cultural identity”, Ayat. Marvi stressed.
The top official highlighted the fneed to plan and find ways to connect scholarly works with society, following the advice of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution on the social extension of Islamic philosophy, which has been limited to academic circles so far.
Ayat. Marvi drew attention to the importance of research on pilgrimage, noting, “Imam Reza shrine receives 30 million pilgrims annually. This presents a unique opportunity to convey the profound concept of pilgrimage”.
He urged efforts to make pilgrimage a transformative, spiritual experience.
AQR’s Custodian further underscored the importance of creating an inclusive environment for all researchers, emphasizing that “academic research should transcend political affiliations”.
He reiterated the Islamic principle of seeking knowledge, even in distant lands, advocating for an open scientific environment.
He also stressed the need to utilize the vast collection of manuscripts at AQR’s Central Library, facilitating researchers' access to these invaluable resources.
Furthermore, he called for the periodic rewriting of the lives of the Infallible Imams, tailored to the needs of each generation.
Further in his remarks, Ayat. Marvi emphasized the role of creative and energetic researchers in advancing the goals of the Islamic Research Foundation and maintaining high-quality scholarly output.
In a related event, the Islamic Research Foundation unveiled several significant works during the 40th anniversary ceremony.
These included the five-volume "Amali of Sayyid Murtada," the three-volume "Murshid al-Khawass," "Lawaami' al-Anwaar fi Sharh 'Uyuun Akhbar al-Ridha," and the Razavi Hadith Information Database.
These works cover various aspects of Islamic jurisprudence, theology, and hadith studies, aiming to provide deep insights and facilitate scholarly research.
The "Amali" volumes offer interpretations of Quranic verses and explanations of challenging hadiths, discussing theological issues from the perspective of the Adliyyah school.
The "Murshid al-Khawass" features over 1,000 hadiths explained by previous scholars and includes interpretations of select Quranic verses.
"Lawaami' al-Anwaar" provides an in-depth commentary on the life and sayings of Imam Reza, serving as a valuable resource for understanding his teachings.
At the 40th anniversary of the establishment of Astan Quds Razavi’s (AQR) Islamic Research Foundation, AQR’s Custodian emphasized expanding Islamic research to impact society and social changes.
