On December 10, at the invitation of Admiral Shahram Irani, commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy, AQR’s Custodian, Ayat. Ahmad Marvi, visited the naval industries and capabilities of the Islamic Republic's Navy, becoming familiar with its achievements and progress.
Speaking to reporters after the visit, Ayat. Marvi stated: "Imam Khomeini repeatedly emphasized 'self-confidence' in his early revolutionary speeches, and the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, as the Commander-in-Chief of armed forces, also emphasized the need to build frigates and naval equipment. Today, these achievements, progress, and self-sufficiency are the result of that self-confidence and firm determination, which certainly deserve praise and pride".
He went on to say that witnessing the spirit of self-sufficiency and self-reliance in the armed forces is delightful, noting that in the past, even building a small boat faced many challenges.
“Today, however, thanks to the Islamic Revolution and the realization of Iranians' outstanding talents, we have been able to build several advanced destroyers, and our Navy powerfully sails in international waters”, the top official said.
"The achievements of the armed forces, including the Army and IRGC Navy, showcase the immense and pride-inspiring capabilities of our country, which many people are unaware of”, Ayat. Marvi noted.
AQR’s custodian continued that due to the distance between many cities and the Persian Gulf (in and its obscurity from many people's view), its vital importance is less recognized.
“However, in reality, the sea plays an unparalleled role in the country's progress, independence, economy, and security", he stressed.
Ayat. Marvi concluded his remarks by asserting, “The Iranian nation takes pride in the capabilities of the Army Navy and its martyrs, and the Navy's heroic acts during the Sacred Defense era (1980-88) are golden pages in our proud history. Today's visit provides an opportunity to appreciate and thank the brave men who, with determination and courage, protect our country's independence and territorial integrity in maritime borders”.
