During the closing ceremony of the 41st International Quran Competition held on January 31 at the Quds Hall of Imam Reza shrine, a rare Quran manuscript attributed to Imam Reza's handwriting was unveiled.
The ceremony was attended by Hoj. Khamooshi, representative of the Leader and head of the Endowments and Charity Affairs Organization, Seyed Abbas Salehi, Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, and Abdolhamid Talebi, head of the Scientific and Cultural Organization of Astan Quds Razavi.
The manuscript is written in Imam Reza's handwriting and in Kufic script. It consists of 27 pages made from deer skin parchment, with each page containing 16 lines of Quranic verses. It starts with verse 60 of Surah An-Nur and ends with verse 4 of Surah Al-Hadid.
The precious Quran is currently kept at the Museum of Quran and Rare Manuscripts of Astan Quds Razavi.
