Imam Reza Shrine immersed in mourning on Imam Sadiq’s martyrdom anniv.

Imam Reza Shrine hosted solemn ceremonies commemorating the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ja’far Sadiq, the 6th Shia Imam, drawing pilgrims and scholars in profound grief.

On the eve of Imam Ja’far Sadiq’s martyrdom anniversary, thousands of pilgrims arrived at Imam Reza Shrine, northeast Iran, offer condolences and participated in heartfelt mourning rituals.
The shrine’s sacred halls were filled with an atmosphere of sorrow, as attendees engaged in prayers, eulogies, and reflections on the Imam’s legacy.  
A significant commemorative program, “In Mourning for the Dust-Covered Grave,” took place at Najmeh Khatun Portico,  predominantly attended by female pilgrims.
The event began with a Quranic recitation, followed by an insightful speech on Imam Sadiq’s moral excellence, patience, and remarkable contributions to Islamic scholarship.
Simultaneously, a larger mourning assembly filled Imam Khomeini Portico, where special ceremonies commenced after evening prayers.
The event featured recitations of prayers, and poignant eulogies, followed by poetic lamentations.
Scholar Hoj. Morteza Agha-Tehrani emphasized the Imam’s scholarly impact, noting that he mentored over 4,000 students and engaged in intellectual debates, even with adherents of different faiths and philosophies.  
The ceremonies concluded with moving elegies. The night of grief reaffirmed the enduring legacy of Imam Sadiq in Islamic teachings and devotion.
