The birth anniversary of Hazrat Masumeh (Imam Reza’s sister) saw thousands of young women, known as Daughters of the Sun, gathering at Imam Reza Shrine (northeast Iran) for a heartfelt celebration.
The procession commenced from Shohada Square in Mashhad, where participants carried white flowers as a symbol of virtue and devotion.
Upon arrival, they paid homage to Imam Reza, expressing their reverence for the Ahlul-Bayt through prayers, hymns, and heartfelt greetings.
The shrine’s courtyards were adorned with floral arrangements, decorative lights, and banners, creating a festive atmosphere.
The Daughters of the Sun proceeded to Imam Khomeini Hall, where special programs were held, including Quranic recitations, poetry, and speeches emphasizing the spiritual and cultural role of women in Islamic society.
During the celebration, Dr. Marzieh Ezzati Vazifehkhah, a scholar of religious studies, underscored Islam’s recognition of women’s dignity and their crucial role in shaping society.
“Islam’s values are at stark contrast with Western materialistic views”, she stressed.
She encouraged attendees to use cultural initiatives to highlight the suffering of oppressed people, particularly in Gaza.
Poetess Fatimah Khorshid Attar Tousi enriched the gathering with verses praising Hazrat Masumeh, portraying her as a beacon of divine light and an embodiment of dignity and virtue.
The event concluded with prayers commemorating the victims of the tragic fire at Shahid Rajaei Port (April 26), honoring daughters who lost their fathers and wishing patience and strength for them.

Carrying white flowers in a grand tribute, young women transform Imam Reza Shrine into a vibrant scene of joy and devotion.
