Imam Reza’s conduct, model for dignity in social services: Custodian

Ayat. Ahmad Marvi, the Custodian of Astan Quds Razavi (AQR), says that all social services provided by the organization must prioritize human dignity, stating that preserving dignity in serving the underprivileged is a fundamental principle.

On the eve of Imam Reza’s blessed birth anniversary, Ayat. Marvi attended the inauguration and groundbreaking ceremony for 20 development and social service projects under the auspices of the Karamat Razavi Foundation. The projects, valued at nine trillion IRR (Approx. $106mn), span various locations across the country, with the event held at Razavi Pilgrims Town, Mashhad (northeast Iran).
“Inspired by Imam Reza’s luminous conduct, AQR considers it a duty to assist people and alleviate their hardships to the best of its ability”, he stated, emphasizing that, “In the teachings of the Qur’an and Ahl al-Bayt, particularly in Imam Reza’s example, serving humanity holds a sacred and unparalleled value. Any negligence in this mission, he added, would make them accountable before God and Imam Reza”.
Ayat. Marvi stressed that all assistance to the needy must reflect Imam Reza’s dignity, citing the Qur’anic verse: “Indeed, We have honored the children of Adam.”
“Dignity is a divine attribute that God has bestowed upon His servants, granting humanity an inherent sense of honor”, he stressed.
Commending the efforts of Karamat Razavi Foundation, he acknowledged the significance of the projects presented at the event and expressed deep appreciation for all those working under the name of Imam Reza in this noble endeavor.
“It is a religious, ethical, and humanitarian duty to embody Imam Reza’s dignity in society, not an act of charity or favor. Ignoring people’s needs, he warned, would make them accountable before God”, the top official reiterated.
AQR’s custodian described preserving human dignity as a noble act, stating, “When people express their needs, efforts must be made to address them while safeguarding their honor, as human dignity is a divine trust”.
He added that every aspect of Imam Reza’s life reflects his compassionate conduct, with his interactions with the needy, respect for individuals, and preservation of their dignity serving as an exemplary model for all.
Ayat. Marvi went on to say: “With increased donations and endowments, the scope of services for the underprivileged will expand under Imam Reza’s banner”.
He emphasized that invoking the names of Ahl al-Bayt sanctifies charitable acts, strengthening people’s love for them and their divine guardianship.
He concluded his remarks by praying for Imam Reza’s support in enabling them to reflect his dignity in serving the people, who themselves are bearers of honor.
