Uzbek professors explore AQR’s library, museum during language refresher course

Visiting scholars from Uzbekistan toured the Central Library and Quran museum of Astan Quds Razavi (AQR) as part of a cultural program tied to their Persian language training.

A group of eight professors and researchers from Uzbekistan, including faculty members from Samarkand University, paid a visit to AQR’s Central Library and Quran museum. 
The visit was organized on the occasion of the Persian language refresher course hosted by Imam Reza International University (IRIU) in Mashhad, northeast Iran.
During the visit, the delegation toured various sections of the library, including literature department, women’s open-shelf hall, digital library, foreign books reading room, film archive and digitization unit, printed book repository, and the manuscript center.
Library experts provided detailed explanations about diverse resources available, including rare manuscripts, digitization processes, and the library’s services for different user groups. 
The Uzbek professors expressed interest in accessing materials from the library and praised its specialized collections, particularly in the fields of manuscripts and digital resources.
The group also visited Quran museum and the exhibition of gifts presented to the Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei. They viewed a selection of rare items, including Quran copies attributed to the handwriting of the Shia Imams and a collection of paintings donated by renowned artist and miniaturist Mahmoud Farshchian.
The Persian language refresher course for Uzbek professors began on July 26, 2025 in Mashhad. Alongside academic sessions, the program includes cultural excursions to historical sites in Khorasan and visits to scientific and cultural centers, offering participants a deeper understanding of Iranian heritage and civilization.
