Seventeen religious and ethnic groups from various provinces across the country will gather at Imam Reza Shrine to hold mourning ceremonies on the occasion of Eighth Imam of Shia Muslim’s martyrdom anniversary coinciding with the last ten days of Safar.
On the occasion of Imam Musa al-Kadhim’s martyrdom, the dome's flag, the shrine's covering, and the courtyards of Imam Reza shrine in Mashhad, northeast Iran, were draped in black from January 25 until January 28.
