Imam Reza shrine in the northeastern Iranian city of Mashhad has been covered in black to mark the start of mourning month of Muharram (1st month on the lunar calendar).
Special mourning and vigil ceremonies have been held on the second Night of Decree (April 1) in Imam Reza shrine, northeast of Iran, under the auspices of the Deputy Office for Islamic Ideology Dissemination.
