Hundreds of children from three continents welcome Mahd al-Reza Quran classes

Holy Quran Center of Imam Reza shrine has managed to attract hundreds of children internationally with activities based on new educational methods such as stories and games.

According to Hoj. Seyyed Masoud Mirian, head of Holy Quran Center, Mahd al-Reza online and physical classes for teaching the Holy Quran are underway across three continents of Asia, Europe and America for the first time this year.

Referring to the 1402 new learners of the Holy Quran from Afghanistan, Germany and Canada, Mirian added: “In the current educational year, these learners are learning the Holy Quran in 49 classes under the supervision of 43 Quranic experts”.

Mahd al-Reza physical classes are underway in six Afghan provinces such as Kabul, Herat, Bamian, etc. Holy Quran class are provided to the Afghan learners in Dari language”, he continued.

Head of Holy Quran Center further noted: “Physical Quran classes are given in Towhid center of Calgary, Canada. Also, online and physical classes are available in the German city of Steinfurt, and Hamburg respectively”.

Talking about the Quranic experts teaching young learners based on new educational methods in these classes, Mirian said: “All the designed Quranic lessons in these courses make the best use of stories, games and poems, so much so to attract young pre-school children to the pure Islamic teachings. The classes are designed for 2-hour lessons three times a week.”

Stressing that the Holy Quran Center is in charge of training courses for Mahd al-Reza Quranic teachers, Mirian added: “To transfer our experience to other countries, some 170 Quranic trainers and experts are selected from 15 countries, and are referred to the center for training”.

According to the head of Holy Quran Center, a training course for Quranic teachers has been run in cooperation with the Deputy Office for International Affairs so far, and some 152 non-Iranian trainers from Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, the US, Pakistan, etc. have been trained online and in person.

Mirian concluded his remarks by pointing to the long experience of Mahd al-Reza Quranic classes, which goes back to 1998, saying: “Currently, we’re running the 25th round of classes, which have been supervised by the Holy Quran Center since 2017”.
