An Imam Reza camp has been set up on Mehran border crossing between Iran and Iraq since early August under the auspices of Karamat Razavi Foundation to provide food and other necessary services to the pilgrims who are making the massive Arbaeen march to Iraq. The foundation has opened two kitchens on the border crossing for the past three years that are especially allocated to making food for both pilgrims and those serving them on the big march.
Three pilgrim service stations have been established on Mehran border crossing, and six Iranian provinces are also involved in providing services to Arbaeen pilgrims.
The stations provide services such as, warm meals, drinking water, breakfast, etc.
Three mobile bus hospitals also provide medical services to pilgrims.
Arbaeen, is a Shia religious observance that occurs forty days after the Day of Ashura. It commemorates the martyrdom of Imam Hussain, the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), who was martyred on the 10th day of the month of Muharram.
