‘Delusion of Quran Distortion’, published

The Persian translation of the Arabic treatise ‘The final statement in response to those who claim to distort the Holy Quran’ has been published under the title ‘Delusion of Quran Distortion’ by Islamic Research Foundation.

Regardless of the paramount significance of the main issue of the treatise, it calls for the translation on scientific and social grounds; firstly, there are still scientific and religious doubts cast upon the Holy Quran in both intra-faith and inter-faith spheres, which necessitate a clear stance in response; secondly, the author, Seyyed Shahab al-Din Mar’ashi Najafi, is a great Shia Muslim scholar in contemporary Iran who is outspoken in the field.

Spiritual distortion, verbal distortion, response to distorting narratives, reasons for Quran being distortion-proof, reason of those claiming to distort Quran and response to them, etc. are among the topics discussed in the treatise.

A section in the introduction argues that the Holy Quran is the same immaculate book bestowed upon Prophet Muhammad by God, which is impregnable against any doubts.

Distortion comes in different forms, namely, spiritual and verbal. Spiritual distortion means interpreting Quran based on baseless and idiosyncratic opinions, which do not abide by interpretation rules. On the other hand, as overwhelming believed by Muslims, verbal distortion has not happened in the Holy book.

The foundation has also published another book titled ‘Al-Rahman Interpretation, Manifestations of God’s Signs’, which is an interpretation of Ar-Rum (the 30th chapter of the Quran).

In this book, the author – Ayat Mohammad Hadi Abd Khodayee – expounds the Quranic verse and its phrases, and articulates the innovative method in Quran as means to know God.
