Briefing reporters on the details of this work, Sakineh Alavi Far, an expert at Central Library’s hall for foreign language books said: “This work has been published in 1910 and there are only 550 ones of this copy in the world now”.
She said: “This book has been beautifully decorated by a pictorial design with peacocks on its cover page”.
Alavi Far added: “There are 12 pictures in this book for creation of which chromolithography technique that was popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries has been used”.
She further noted: “75 quatrains of Khayyam have been masterfully translated into English by translator Edward Fitzgerald in this book. At the end of this work, there is a list of necessary explanations and tips about most of the quatrains as well”.
