Magnificent funeral procession of ‘Martyrs of Service’, people’s gratitude for years of their selfless efforts

The Custodian of Imam Reza shrine said magnificent funeral procession for ‘Martyrs of Service’ was a public gratitude for years of their selfless hard work.

Speaking in a meeting with Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, the leader of Iraq’s National Wisdom Movement, Hoj Ahmad Marvi, the shrine custodian, thanked the Iraqi people for their solidarity with Iran in the recent catastrophe that led to the martyrdom of President Raeisi and his companions in a chopper crash on May 19.

“The large turnout of people in different Iranian cities for the funeral procession of President Raeisi and his companions indicated the real power of the Islamic Republic”, said Hoj Marvi.

Stressing that the somber procession was a manifestation of the bond between the people and the Islamic establishment, he clarified: “The people appreciate years of selfless service by these martyrs”.

The shrine custodian added that Martyr Raeisi indefatigably devoted his life to serving the people and Islamic establishment, noting: “The martyred president was, in fact, a good-natured, humble, fair, moral, and motivated figure”.

He praised President Raeisi as a true follower of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.

“Martyr Raeisi was a fervent lover of Ahl al-Bait, especially Imam Reza, not missing any opportunity to visit the shrine”, continued the custodian.

According to Hoj Marvi, compassion towards the people was another major trait of the late president.

For his part, Ammar al-Hakim expressed his condolences for the recent disaster, saying: “Humbleness and good-temperedness were two of late Ayat Raeisi’s characteristics”.
