In the event, Ayat. Ahmad Marvi emphasized the importance of utilizing the capacities of the ECO group to promote peace and progress in the region, stressing the need for Muslim unity against the threats posed by Israel, describing it as a serious danger to global peace and human security.
In a meeting with foreign ministers and senior officials of ECO member countries at the Imam Reza shrine, Aya. Marvi, AQR’s Custodian, highlighted the brutal crimes committed by the Zionist regime in Gaza, stating, "In this grand gathering, where several foreign ministers of Islamic countries are present, we cannot remain silent about the oppression and injustice inflicted by the Zionist regime on the Palestinian people."
He added, "The Prophet of Islam, in a hadith narrated in both Sunni and Shia sources, said, 'Whoever hears the cry of a Muslim and does not respond is not a Muslim.' In these critical circumstances, Muslims must feel a sense of duty and understand their responsibilities".
He continued, "The events in Gaza are unprecedented, with over 40,000 people killed, most of whom were not combatants. Many of the victims were innocent women and children".
"In Gaza, defenseless people are being killed by the Zionists with weapons from the United States. Muslims, with the dignity and power bestowed by the Prophet, can stand against these enemies", Ayat. Marvi emphasized.
He described Israel as a threat to global security, stating, "As Imam Khomeini and Ayat. Khamenei have said, Israel is like a cancerous tumor. If not prevented from spreading, it will harm all human societies, primarily Islam and Islamic communities, and then global peace".
AQR’s Head highlighted the significant role of ECO in strengthening economic and cultural relations. "The ECO group has high capacities in economic, social, scientific, and cultural fields, creating profound regional impacts. This convergence should penetrate various social layers, not just government levels."
"Imam Reza shrine welcomes some 30 million pilgrims annually from various religions and denominations, forming a 'rainbow' of cultures conveying a message of peace and brotherhood", Ayat. Marvi noted.
Marvi described the shrine as a symbol of Muslim convergence, emphasizing its role as a spiritual, religious, cultural, and social institution.
“The shrine's expenses are covered by public donations, and its management model is based on endowments and donations”, he added.
Marvi also thanked the Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, for organizing the summit in Mashhad, appreciating his initiative in choosing such a significant location.
The Iranian top diplomat welcomed ECO member countries and expressed gratitude to AQR for hosting the summit's guests at Imam Reza shrine.
Araghchi highlighted the abundant capacities of ECO member countries and the potential for close cooperation to facilitate sustainable regional growth and progress.
In a meeting with representatives of ECO member countries, the Custodian of Astan Quds Razavi stressed the need to address the oppression and injustice inflicted on the oppressed Palestinian people by Zionist regime.
