Unity of Shia, Sunni in support of Resistance Front

Under the auspices of the Scientific and Cultural Organization of Astan Quds Razavi (AQR), the 1st specialized session of the 6th Imam Reza International Congress began with the theme of ‘Resistance for Reviving Human Rights and Dignity in the Teachings of Imam Reza’.

The opening ceremony, held on December 4 at Sheikh Tabarsi Hall, with domestic and international elites and thinkers in attendance, highlighted the crimes of the Zionist regime and the oppression against the Palestinians.
Dr. Saeedreza Ameli, the Secretary of the Congress, emphasized the increase in war theories and ignorance, stating, "In the tradition of the Holy Quran, right is equal to religion".
Stating that "the right to life is one of the greatest human rights", he criticized post-World War II global leadership.
Ameli continued: "Unfortunately, globally, foolish leaders and oppressive institutions are in charge. After World War II, the United Nations was formed to prevent oppression, and the Security Council was established afterwards".
The secretary noted that the right to defend one's home is a natural right, saying: "Verbal and spiritual support for the fighters is a divine duty; abandoning jihad leads to humiliation, and compromise results in defeat".
Speaking next, a key member of the Sunni Scholars' Assembly of Iraq pointed to the necessity of resistance and solidarity with Palestinians, stating, "Shia and Sunni are united in supporting Gaza and condemning the Israeli regime".
Sheikh Khalid Abdulwahab added, "Under the wise leadership of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, there is no difference between Shia and Sunni in supporting the Resistance Front in Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, and Palestine".
He added that losing leaders like Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and Ismail Haniyeh (former Secy Gen. of Hezbollah and former chief of Hamas’s Political bureau, respectively) is painful but new commanders rise to keep the flag of Hezbollah raised.
The ceremony will continue with three specialized sessions on human dignity, human rights challenges, and resistance.
