Giving information about production and repairment process of these items in this workshop, Mohammad Shabaan, holy shrine’s deputy for pilgrim services said: “This department aims to facilitate prayer process for pilgrims by producing and distributing prayer turbahs within the shrine. Additionally, another responsibility of the workshop is collecting broken and unused turbahs and repairing them”.

Shabaan added: “Because saying prayers on the soil of Karbala holds more virtue and reward, we have combined turbahs of Imam Reza holy shrine with soil from the tomb of Imam Hossein (AS)”.

The deputy for pilgrim services at Imam Reza shrine went on to say: “Approximately 50 congregational prayers are held daily at the shrine, and a massive number of pilgrims use these blessed turbahs for their prayers”.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he discussed significance of using soil of Karbala in prayer, stating that “one of the blessings and spiritual effects of prostrating on Karbala soil is keeping the memory and legacy of Imam Hossein (AS) alive and highlighting his suffering”.

Pilgrims can obtain the prayer turbahs from the repositories located within the courtyards and corridors of the shrine.
