Speaking in an interview, Hoj. Esfandiari, the Deputy for International Affairs of AQR and the secretary of the congress, stated: “The congress will take place at Imam Reza shrine (northeast Iran) on Dec. 18, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM”.
The custodians of several Iranian shrines and holy sites, representatives of the Leader in Hajj and pilgrimage affairs, cultural and social deputies of the Organization of Endowments and Charity Affairs, and other officials and scholars will attend the event.
The 2nd preliminary session of the event was held on Dec. 17 for committee members of holy sites, while the 1st preliminary session occurred in October in Qom.
The congress members include custodians from Imam Reza shrine in Mashhad, Hazrat Masumeh (Imam Reza’s sister) shrine in Qom, Hazrat Ahmad ibn Musa (Imam Reza’s brother) shrine in Shiraz, Hazrat Abd al-Azim shrine in Rey, and the Jamkaran Mosque in Qom.
Other members include the Organization of Endowments and Charity Affairs and the Leader's representative office in Hajj and pilgrimage affairs.
The congress has been held annually since 2018, hosted by various holy sites. This year's congress marks the third time AQR is hosting the event, led by Ayat. Marvi.
The 7th congress will focus on reviewing implementation of resolutions from the 6th congress, transforming operational practices of the secretariat and holy sites, and addressing societal issues and improving community service.
Speakers at the congress will include Ayat. Marvi, Hoj. Saeedi, Hoj. Kalantari, Hoj. Ghazi Askar, Hoj. Ojaqnejad, and Hoj. Navab, among others.
Additional topics will include actions of holy sites and sacred places concerning the topic of Jihad of Elucidation, implementing the development plan for the culture of waiting for reappearance of Imam Mahdi, support for the resistance front, and application of artificial intelligence in holy sites.
The 7th congress of the custodians of Iran’s holy shrines and sacred sites is scheduled to be hosted by Astan Quds Razavi (AQR) under the theme of "Holy Sites, Center of Knowledge and Spirituality".
