The Tajik scholars were welcomed as part of the first conference titled "Rudaki and cultural ties between Iran and Tajikistan" underway at Ferdowsi University in Mashhad on Dec 26.
Abdunabi Sattarzoda, Omardin Yusufi, Mubasher Akbarzoda, Farangis Sharifzoda, and Onzort Melikzoda were the professors who toured various sections of the library, including the foreign books section, researchers’ hall, manuscripts consultation room, and the printed books section.
The Tajik professors were impressed by the diverse services offered to researchers and scholars at the AQR’s library.
Speaking in an interview, Abdunabi Sattarzoda from Tajikistan National University stated: “The library is not only the largest in Iran but also well-known globally, including in Tajikistan”.
He emphasized the library's extensive collection of printed books and ancient Quranic manuscripts, which were particularly intriguing to the visitors.
He praised the library's 24/7 services for researchers, allowing them to work in a conducive environment with access to necessary resources.
He also highlighted the availability of foreign publications by Tajik scholars, most of which are donated works.
Sattarzoda proposed enhancing the library's collection with selected books by Tajik writers and poets through formal agreements or informal donations to enrich the cultural heritage shared between the two nations.
