In the latest evaluation of the Islamic World Science Citation Database ending in November 2024, the Journal of Librarianship and Information Science, with an impact factor of 0.507 in the social sciences category, was assessed and classified in the first quartile (Q1).
As the first scientific-research quarterly in the field of information science and knowledge studies (librarianship and information science) in the country, the Journal of Librarianship and Information Science published its first issue in autumn 1997 and has been made available quarterly to researchers in the fields of books, libraries, and information science. The journal has successfully improved its status over three years (2021 to 2023) and maintained its presence in the first quartile (Q1).
In the evaluation, out of a total of 3,977 journals in the Islamic World Science Citation Database, only 1,911 journals were included in the ranking system of this database. Of these, 682 journals were classified in the first quartile (Q1), 851 journals in the second quartile (Q2), 910 journals in the third quartile (Q3), and 1,294 journals in the fourth quartile (Q4).
Each year, the performance of journals indexed in ISC is evaluated based on citation analyses and impact indicators, and journals with impact factors are presented in the ISC-JCR journal database. This information is made available to the scientific community through the ISC website at www.isc.ac.
It is worth mentioning that the quarterly Journal of Librarianship and Information Science has also received an "A" rating from the Scientific Journals Commission of the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology during the years 2021 to 2023.
